Stupidfreude: Furries in Space

When it’s time for a cheap laugh (and when isn’t it?) you can always turn to furries.

I was really happy to run across the image below. I was actually looking for Trek furry fan art, because anytime two over-the-top fetishes get together, you’ve got yourself some good entertainment. But the stuff I found was strangely disappointing.

This is another matter.

It’s fun to try and pick the best thing about this picture. It appears on the web site of one “Bernard Doove (Chakat Goldfur).” That’s right, he’s using both his real name and his “furry” name, and the latter is “Chakat.” Chakat? Who calls themselves Chakat?

As it turns out, a lot of people. Sorry, creatures. People creatures. That’s because “Chakats” are a whole race of furry beings that this guy invented. In addition to making love hermaphroditically, they do a lot of space exploration. The above is an illustration for a “story of first-contact with the Rrakith, a felinoid species” printed in Bernard/Chakat’s Australian furry magazine, “South Fur Lands.”

My favorite part of the picture is the standing figure’s spacesuit, which looks like it was borrowed from Point Break. See?

So it’s sort of a triple fetish: Furries, plus space — plus neoprene.

Actually, Keanu Reeves aside, I’d rather read South Fur Lands than watch Point Break.

  1. Did you see the CSI episode where the forensics team investigates the death of a furry? (Found shot dead in the desert, wearing a canine costume…)

    Funniest. Episode. Ever.

  2. Yeah, wasn’t that during that stretch at the beginning of Season 3 when Every Single Episode had a gimmick? They did street racing, magicians, BDSM (again) and furries
